Our Projects and Signature Programs
The Alice M. Baldwin Scholars Program is a four-year program that inspires and supports undergraduate women to become engaged, confident and connected leaders in the Duke community and beyond.
buzz is Duke’s first student activities calendar. A joint project of the OUE and the Provost’s Office, buzz will provide a one-stop location for student events.
Chautauqua is envisioned as the Duke successor to the nineteenth-century adult education movement. The Duke Chautauqua Series brings distinguished professors into first-year dormitory commons rooms for educational and entertaining conversations about their expertise. Just as the historical Chautauqua functioned to educate and build community, so too does Duke’s version.
DukeList is the primary site for student employment and research opportunities on and around campus. Started by the OUE, it is now maintained by the Student Service Center. Whether it’s paid or volunteer, it’s on DukeList.
The Faculty-in-Residence Program is one of the ways in which Duke facilitates and strengthens interaction between professors and undergrads outside the classroom. The program which is sponsored jointly by our office and the Division of Student Affairs places diverse faculty members in residence halls.
Flunch was started by the Duke Student Government (DSG), in partnership with Student Affairs and the Office of Undergraduate Education, and provides an opportunity for undergraduates to take their professors to lunch (or dinner, but FLINNER didn’t sound as good as FLUNCH!)
…..
New Campus represents Duke’s most exciting and largest expansion in recent years. Consisting of residence halls, classrooms, offices, athletic facilities, restaurants and performance spaces, New Campus will revolutionize the size and feel of campus.
.
The Winter Forum is an intensive two-day conference for undergraduates that focuses on a global issue. A joint venture between the Office of Undergraduate Education and the Provost’s office, the annual forum brings students into direct contact with professors, grad students, experts and policymakers.
Duke Conversations supports learning opportunities for Duke students outside of the classroom through engaging dialogue between students and compelling guests of their choice.
