FLUNCH

Faculty + Lunch = FLUNCH

Duke Student Government (DSG), in partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Education, is providing an opportunity for undergraduates to take their professors to lunch (or dinner, but FLINNER didn't sound as good as FLUNCH!)

FLUNCH allows students to invite faculty to dine with them at the Pavilion, the Divinity Refectory, the East Campus Marketplace, the Food Factory at the Devil's Bistro on Central Campus, and the Freeman Center. Due to construction in the West Union Building, the Great Hall and the Faculty Commons will not be available dining options for the 2013-14 year.  The hope is that students will use this opportunity to establish lasting relationships with faculty members they might not have developed in the classroom.

Each student's allotment of FLUNCH funds will be capped at $100 per semester. As always, each undergraduate student may host no more than 2 FLUNCHes per semester.  The FLUNCH program does not cover alcohol purchases. The last day to submit a FLUNCH request is the last day of class for a given semester; the last day to hold an approved FLUNCH is Friday of exam week each semester.

The FLUNCH request form will be available on Monday, August 26, 2013 for the 2013 Fall Semester.

The FLUNCH request form for the 2013-14 academic year will open on Monday, August 26, 2013. The last date to submit a FLUNCH request for the 2013 Fall Semester will be Friday, December 6, 2013. The last date to submit a FLUNCH request for the 2014 Spring Semester will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

Once approved, please give the cashier a printed copy of your approval email so your FLUNCH will be charged to the FLUNCH account.  If your approved FLUNCH was not correctly charged to FLUNCH, please submit the FLUNCH Inquiry form to request a review of your lunch charge.
